The Wilson Center is accepting applications for Research Assistant Internships for Fall 2024.
These internships are open to undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students.
Interns will work with leading researchers and help with important global research. Apply by August 16.
Internship Timelines
- Spring: Apply in November, internships run January to May.
- Summer: Apply in March, internships run June to August.
- Fall: Apply in July, internships run September to December.

About the Research Assistant Internship
Interns work 12-15 hours a week, supporting their assigned researchers. They help with tasks like analyzing academic work, attending events, and connecting with experts. Interns receive a $500 monthly stipend and may earn academic credit.
Activities and Responsibilities
Interns help researchers with:
- Using the Wilson Center Library’s resources for research
- Proofreading and editing
- Creating bibliographies
- Writing literature reviews
- Summarizing research
Interns also take part in panel discussions, conferences, and other Center events.
Eligibility
- Open to undergraduates, recent graduates, or graduate students with at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Must be a current student, recent graduate (within the past year), or accepted into an advanced degree program.
- International students in the US on F-1 or J-1 visas with the right work authorization can apply.
- The Wilson Center does not provide visa sponsorship for interns.

Application Process
To apply, you need to submit the Research Assistant Internship Application form along with the following documents:

- Completed Wilson Center Internship Application Form
- Cover Letter (indicating academic interests or areas of interest)
- Current Resume (indicating relevant coursework)
- 3-5 page Writing Sample (excerpts of a research paper are acceptable) with bibliography
- 2 letters of recommendation, or a brief list of references
Recommenders may send their letters directly to internships@wilsoncenter.org if they prefer not to share them with applicants. Please include the applicant’s name in the subject line of the email.
