IJP German-Northern European Programme July 2024

Applications for the IJP German-Northern European Programme 2024 are open. Up to 22 fellowships are available, each with a €3,800 stipend for travel and expenses. This programme, fostering dialogue between Germany, Nordic countries, and the Baltic states, offers up to 22 fellowships annually.

About

Applications are now open for the IJP German-Northern European Programme 2024. Originating as a platform for dialogue between Germany and the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden), it expanded in 2015 to include Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

The program reflects Germans’ keen interest in Northern Europe’s political and social landscapes, reciprocated by Northern Europeans’ growing curiosity about Germany’s cultural and political influence.

The programme offers up to 22 fellowships annually. Nordic and Baltic participants visit German editorial offices, while German fellows travel to Nordic and Baltic countries.

A joint introductory conference in a capital city gathers all participants, facilitating discussions with political, business, and societal leaders to explore current issues and enhance German-Northern European-Baltic cooperation.

The programme concludes with a closing event in Berlin, fostering collaboration and further research.
