Apply now for the 2024 Global Health Corps (GHC) Africa Leadership Accelerator! This program offers GHC’s top-notch health leadership training to upcoming leaders in public health in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia.

Over nine months, fellows will join virtual workshops, in-person retreats, get executive coaching, and professional mentorship, all while keeping their current jobs.

Program Details

Deadline: August 14, 2024

The Africa Leadership Accelerator combines online and in-person learning. The program is free for fellows, covering all online sessions, travel, lodging, and meals for retreats. Fellows should spend 6-8 hours per month on the program.

Once you become a fellow, you join GHC’s network of 1,200+ alumni, continuing to grow through GHC’s alumni program. The fellowship runs from September to May, and participation in all activities is required.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Africa Leadership Accelerator, you must:

  • Be 21-35 years old by September 1, 2024.
  • Be a citizen of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia.
  • Have worked full-time in a non-clinical public health role for at least six months.
  • Be employed by a public health organization in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia with written support for your participation.

There are no specific education or training requirements.

You must be nominated to apply.

  • Nominations can be made by:
    • A representative from your organization (HR, Executive Director, Program Manager, etc.)
    • Your manager or supervisor
    • A colleague or peer (current or former employer)
    • A GHC alumni or fellow
    • Others

Nominees will receive an email with the application link and details within 3-5 business days. You need to submit:

  • Your CV
  • Program references
  • Demographic information
  • Short responses to prompts
  • A letter of recommendation from your supervisor
